About Us

Perceptual Robotics is a research and development company based in the Bristol Robotics Lab. Our emphasis is on bridging research level innovation with industrial applications. We have been awarded funding from Innovate UK as well as the New Enterprise Competition award of the University of Bristol and are expanding rapidly.

Our first product under development is Dhalion, an industry leading autonomous aerial platform for wind turbine inspection. Dhalion aims to bring full end to end inspection capabilities to the market, from data acquisition to high confidence defect identification.

Computer Vision Engineer

Start Date: March 2017

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven computer vision engineer to help us develop the software required to automatically identify and classify defects in turbine blades. The successful candidate will join a small, but highly capable team with great links into the industry and who are passionate about creating intelligent robotic solutions. Minimum Requirements:

  • Good degree in computer science or related subject

  • Experience using Python or C++

  • Some experience either using OpenCV or equivalent image processing libraries

  • Passionate to be part of a small, but rapidly growing robotics SME

 

Desired:

  • Experience with ROS

  • Experience with Thermal Image Processing

  • Experience with feature extraction and SLAM algorithms

  • Experience with reconstructing 3D images
