<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Haris&#8217; love for adventure extends beyond his workbench. He enjoys driving his car and motorcycle through the countryside, as well as spending quality time with his family.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Haris is a multifaceted talent with a passion for creating and designing innovative solutions from scratch. He thrives on solving problems and finds immense joy in crafting unique designs. His favourite tool? The 3D printer, which he considers his ultimate playground. He is a hardware engineer, prototyping designer and skilled UAV pilot having inspected more than 100 turbines with our Dhalion only in 2024 so far in the Greek mountain tops, under the Greek sun or amidst foggy views in this very unique weather setting.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As Haris puts it, “My true passion lies in design, and through my collaborative efforts with the team at Perceptual Robotics, our ideas come to life in the most remarkable ways. What could be more rewarding than turning ideas into reality?”</span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This past weekend, our team at Perceptual Robotics had an incredible time participating in the annual Cardboard Boat Race at Bristol Harbour. We are thrilled to announce that our boat, </span><b>Turbinia</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">, clinched a fantastic third place! 🥉</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our boat was named after </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">the first </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">steam turbine</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">-powered </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">steamship</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in 1894, the fastest ship in the world at that time!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The event was a wonderful blend of creativity, teamwork, and sheer fun. It was inspiring to see so many innovative and imaginative designs crafted entirely out of cardboard. Our team poured their heart and soul into designing and building Turbinia, ensuring it was not only seaworthy but also stood out in the crowd. The construction team were Daniel, Shijing, Greg, Jack and Rob and our crew, Captain Daniel and his mate Carrie, rowed tirelessly and did an extremely good job despite the tumbling wind turbine!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A huge thank you to everyone who supported us, cheered us on, and helped make this event a memorable one. Special thanks to the organisers for putting together such a fantastic race, bringing the community together for a day of laughter, excitement, and friendly competition.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At Perceptual Robotics, we believe in pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers, whether in the field of robotics or in a fun-filled cardboard boat race. Participating in this event reminded us of the importance of teamwork, innovation, and having a bit of fun along the way.</span></p>

One of our customers recently used Dhalion&#8217;s fully autonomous system to complete </span><b>over 150</b> <b>wind turbine inspections</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> across the UK in just three months from the day the order was placed. This includes planning for calibration, pilot and data processing training. Not an easy fit in such a small time frame!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our smart and reliable drones are changing the game using advanced robotics and A, making inspections faster and more accurate than ever before.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">What’s even more impressive? Dhalion can handle 11 inspections in a single day on average, depending on the turbine model. The majority of these 150 inspections were large machines of 93m rotor diameter. This means more turbines checked in less time, without sacrificing quality. Our customer is thrilled with the results, seeing huge improvements in their inspection processes. The efficiency of Dhalion helps spot potential issues quickly, allowing for faster fixes and better overall turbine performance.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This approach allows us to estimate the Annual Energy Production (AEP) loss and consequently, the associated revenue loss with much higher accuracy than traditional methods.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Simple estimates that rely solely on the severity of damage can significantly overestimate or underestimate true LE losses.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To derive sensible values, it&#8217;s crucial to consider: </span></p>

</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Aerodynamic analysis, which is the core of our methodology, addresses these factors comprehensively. This allows us to accurately calculate losses for an entire blade or even pinpoint losses associated with a specific region of damage. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our approach ensures that you have the precise information needed to prioritise repairs and optimise turbine performance. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As an example for the LEE damage shown in the image, our estimations indicate that this damage alone, due to its severity, location, type, and size, will result in a yearly AEP loss of approximately 6.2% in our aerodynamic model. This particular damage is categorised as a level 5 and is about 3.6 meters long. Based on an average approach to incomes/production (customisable to reflect local pricing), this translates to an annual loss of about £4,300 (€5,117) in AEP. By turning the image of damage into actionable results, we can help prioritise repairs effectively.</span></p>

By addressing critical damages promptly and efficiently, site managers can prevent minor issues from escalating into more severe problems that could lead to costly replacements or extensive downtime.
