In his role, Clalton is responsible for coordinating our network of blade specialists and oversees the assessment and classification of damages, making sure that every report generated by our system for service inspections is precise, actionable, and aligned with industry standards. He also leads the End of Project process, ensuring customers gain actionable insights rather than just static PDF reports. His expertise helps transform raw inspection data into clear, valuable insights for our clients.

Beyond damage evaluation, Clalton also provides specialist technical support, assisting customers in interpreting results, addressing operational questions, and getting the most value from Perceptual Robotics’ technology. His ability to connect technical knowledge with customer needs ensures a smooth and confident experience for every project. His language skills also help a lot in supporting Portuguese and Spanish speaking clients.

Outside of work, Clalton values time with his family and contributes to his community as a volunteer firefighter, which is an invaluable contribution where he lives: Portugal, which unfortunately suffers a lot of forest fires during summer. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he also enjoys the outdoors, spending time at the beach, and sharing his passion for cooking, especially preparing a traditional Brazilian barbecue for friends and colleagues.

With his professionalism, commitment, and collaborative approach, Clalton contributes directly to raising the standard of blade inspections and strengthening the innovative solutions we deliver to the wind energy sector.

Lucía Fernández Santomé, one of their senior blade specialists, knows this all too well. With clients depending on their reports to plan repairs and keep turbines spinning, there’s zero room for delays or inconsistencies.

🛑 The Challenge

High-volume inspections are not for the faint of heart. Each campaign stretches over months, and the margin for error is slim.

In the field, inspections were time-consuming and manual. Even with years of experience, capturing every detail from traditional inspection methods proved difficult.

And once back in the office, their workflow didn’t get much easier. Processing  findings, reviewing thousands of images, and manually building reports was slowing down repair cycles and stretching the team thin.

“We often struggled with image quality and definition,” Lucía shared.

“That made it harder to identify all potential damages with confidence –  especially when you’re dealing with such a large volume.”
